POSITIVE DIRECTION

was founded in Southeast Queens in response to a growing need for youth to engage in positive, structured activities rather than the negative influences surrounding them. The program provides a safe and constructive environment where young people can set meaningful goals under the guidance of caring mentors—empowering them to overcome challenges and make positive life choices.

Basketball serves as our primary tool to attract and inspire both boys and girls. Success in the sport requires self-discipline, hard work, and determination—qualities that we encourage participants to carry into every aspect of their lives. Through basketball, we promote academic excellence, requiring study sessions, report card evaluations, and recognition for scholastic achievement. Our goal is to help youth apply the same dedication they show on the court or in the studio to their performance in the classroom.

At its core, Positive Direction focuses on developing strong character, confidence, self-respect, and responsibility. We emphasize time management, social skills, and loyalty, guided by a dedicated and respected staff who lead by example. By reinforcing the values and morals taught at home, Positive Direction strengthens family and community ties—restoring essential principles like respect for oneself and others, which have too often been forgotten.

Our team brings years of experience, passion, and commitment to helping every player reach their full potential. We believe in teaching more than basketball — we teach leadership, teamwork, discipline, and confidence. Together, we create a positive and supportive environment where athletes can grow, compete, and succeed on and off the court.
